Free-Flow Painting Journey – A Summer Shamanic Journey Special

SUNDAY, JANUARY 22, 2023 AT 1:30 PM – 5 PM
Summer in Cairns is very much about freedom. Everything is growing freely, and the forest is exploding with life, fruit, foliage and fauna.

“Come and experience yourself differently and profoundly.”

Format overview: Paint -> Journey -> Paint -> Discussion & Interpretation Support.
We offer this summer special event so people can explore themselves differently and profoundly. In contrast to our intention-based work, this work allows the intention to flow out of yourself into the painting. There is no upfront discussion about where you are and what you want to work on. We work in the quiet space of you. We follow a flow.
The painting we do in this format is hard to control, so it’s free to explore the energetics around you. The paint has a mind of its own. As you see the paint mixing with the paper, you allow yourself to fall into the water on the page, to follow the streams, the openings, the rivulets, and flow freely. It’s this mesmerising experience where you allow the brush to become a part of your body, you become a part of the paint, the water, and the paper. You stop when the picture is complete. This painting innocently and gently opens you.
The above painting is in silence, and staying in silence, we move into a journey with the impressions and experiences you encountered in your free-flow painting. We drum, sing, chant as we journey and shamanise.
Next, still in silence, we move into another painting. This painting gently closes you. You bring the energy of the journey into this last painting through your arms, hands, paintbrush, paints, paper and water, laying it out on the page. When that is complete, we discuss the experiences at the start, in the journey and the outcomes of our final piece.
This is potent, profound and meaningful, partly because we work in silence. This supports a real focus on the self, where you can really move into your energy, and then express it, not from the mind but the body, paint, water and paper. What comes out comes from the energetic self onto the page is not from the mind. It opens the energy and intelligence of the body, and then we together go into a journey to allow these the freedom to move. Then we gently return to painting, where some profound and meaningful movements can occur.
This is a free-flow experience. We freely flow with that energy.
Come, and experience yourself differently and profoundly.
