Our approach to menopause

Posted on February 19, 2021

For us, this is a most impassioned topic.

We see menopause as a time of absolute change and a time offering absolute possibility. We see it as a woman changing from a child-bearing possibility and age into this new mature time of life where the physiology quietens along with the reproductive hormones, and this quietening allows the space for the internal wisdom of the woman to come forward and learn to be expressed, with all that life experience. Fewer needs from the children and family etc., means they have the opportunity to explore themselves in this possible expression of internal wisdom and life experience and taking that into the physical aspect of life, going out into the world, and becoming leaders/being leaders.

Some may have been leaders before, however, after menopause, it’s really the time of the crone and the leadership qualities you have are so different. The vision is somehow broader, one can encompass the big-picture and even an all-seeing perspective in contrast to the childbearing years. Do not let the old derisive connotation of the label ‘crone’ diminish its true reverence.

So, we say to people going through menopause to embrace it. Even if the body is getting hot, or you are having problems with the reproductive organs or mental discomfort, whatever you are experiencing, relish it as a time of transformation and put the work in. Get to know your body, get to understand it. Maybe consider not popping the pills to suppress it, get to know how it really works, understanding it better opens up the possibilities in so many areas of your life.

Menopause we see as one of the most exciting times for a woman’s life and their body as well! Work to relish it. Know this can be a transformative period of life for you, put the effort in, put the energy in that it needs:

  • What were you?
  • What are you going to become?
  • Where do you want to go?

… because now the world is opening up to you in a completely different way. See it as an adventure, and know as you go through it you are going to be transformed and you are going to become a leader of your group, that’s the possibility.

Now let’s face it, the western world needs more wise leaders in their group. Aim to be one of them.We wish you all the very best and please feel free to share this with someone who might need this inspiration. We’re all working for a better world, one magnificent person at a time!
